If you have important new research findings that were not available by the July 15, 2026, regular abstract submission deadline,
you are invited to submit a Late-Breaking Abstract for consideration at APDW 2026 Manila, taking place November 26–28, 2026.

Invitation to Submit Late-Breaking Abstracts
Outstanding submissions of exceptional scientific and clinical significance may be selected for oral presentation. Please note that the Late-Breaking Abstract process is not an extension of the regular abstract submission deadline and is intended only for studies with novel findings that became available after the original deadline.
Guidelines for Late-Breaking Abstract Submission
- Do not resubmit abstracts that were previously submitted during the regular APDW 2026 abstract review process.
- Abstracts must present high-quality clinical or scientific research with results that were not available or fully analyzed by the July 15, 2026, general abstract submission deadline.
- Case reports, video submissions, and literature reviews are not eligible.
- Revisions or updates to previously submitted abstracts will not be considered.
- Research that has been published or presented at another scientific meeting before APDW 2026 is not eligible.
- Authors of accepted abstracts must present in person in Manila and must register for APDW 2026.
- Late-Breaking Abstracts are not eligible for travel grants.

Oral Presentation
Original research selected for oral presentation in a scientific session. The top-scoring abstracts submitted for free paper will qualify for oral presentation. All others will be considered for poster presentation.

Original research displayed in the dedicated Poster Area throughout the congress. Official poster-viewing hours are held during coffee breaks each day. Selected posters may qualify for the moderated poster session.

Endoscopic Video Case
Video submissions showcasing endoscopic techniques or clinical challenges of educational value. Shortlisted videos will be presented live at the APDW Endoscopy Cup session.

All abstracts must be submitted through the APDW 2026 Abstract Submission Portal (opens 15 March 2026). Hardcopy and faxed abstracts will not be accepted.

Abstracts must be written in English only.

The abstract body must not exceed 250 words, excluding the title and author details.

Abstracts must follow the structured format: Background / Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

Tables and figures are not permitted within the abstract body.

A maximum of 10 authors per abstract.

Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format (oral or poster). The Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign presentation type based on scientific content and programme requirements.

Abstracts must contain original material that has neither been published nor presented at another international meeting at the time of submission. Abstracts submitted to or presented at local and national meetings may be considered. If applicable, the abstract should state: "This research has been approved by an ethical committee."

All presenting authors must be registered for the congress at the time of presentation. Registration is not required at the point of submission, but must be completed before the congress to present your abstract and for accepted abstracts to be published in the JGH supplement.

Submission of an abstract constitutes consent for publication in the JGH supplement and the official congress programme.

All submitted abstracts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Author identities are concealed from reviewers and reviewer identities are concealed from authors.

Abstracts are evaluated on: Novelty / Advancement, Research Methodology, Quality, State of Completion, and Clinical / Scientific Importance.

The decisions of the Scientific Committee are final. Presenting authors will receive email notification of acceptance or rejection in August 2026.

All submitted abstracts will be acknowledged by email within 3 working days of receipt. Contact info@apdw2026manila.com if you do not receive your acknowledgement.

All abstracts must be submitted through the APDW 2026 Abstract Submission Portal (opens 15 March 2026). Hardcopy and faxed abstracts will not be accepted. A complete submission consists of the items listed below. Incomplete submissions will not be honoured.

Author registration to attend Conference.

Written video abstract written in English (should not exceed 250 words).

Video submissions should have a duration of 3–4 minutes which should include:
Introduction, Case presentation, Conclusion / clinical application.

Videos must be submitted in MP4 format.

There is no file size limit, as submitters are required to provide a URL to a shared drive where the video submission is uploaded. The URL should be included during submission through the Abstract Submission Portal.

Videos must be submitted at the same time as abstract through the online portal.

Self-voice narration must be included in the video submission. Auto-generated narration will not be accepted.

Any patient identifying information must be excluded or obscured from video clips and narration.

Abbreviations should conform to the recommendations made by the IUB Committee of Editors on Biochemical Journals.

Use the abbreviation in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears

Use no more than five nonstandard abbreviations.

Drug products mentioned in abstracts should be identified by their generic names only.
During the live endoscopic video case presentation, audio of the submitted video will be muted to allow a 3-4 minute live oral presentation by the presenter. An additional 3 minute Q&A will be held after each presentation.

Publication in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
All accepted abstracts will be published as a supplement to JGH — one
of the region's leading peer-reviewed journals in digestive medicine.
Publication is conditional on the presenting author completing
congress registration. This provides your research with international
visibility beyond the congress itself.
🏆 Awards & Grants for Researchers
Submitting an abstract to APDW 2026 makes you eligible for prestigious
awards and travel grants. Outstanding oral presentations are considered
for the
APDWF/JGHF Young Investigator Award, while exceptional posters may qualify for the
Posters of Distinction Award. Up to
70 Travel Grants are available for
early-career clinicians and scientists from Asia-Pacific countries.

Thank you to every researcher who submitted to APDW 2026 Manila. Every abstract now goes through a rigorous double-blind peer review by the Scientific Committee, with acceptance notifications scheduled to be sent to presenting authors in mid-August 2026.
If you have novel, practice-changing, or groundbreaking research that missed the regular abstract submission deadline, you'll have another opportunity to share your work. Late-Breaking Abstract Submissions will be open from August 1–31, 2026. Stay tuned for more details.
