APDW 2026 Manila proudly administers a comprehensive awards and grants programme funded by the Asian Pacific Digestive Week Federation (APDWF) and the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Foundation (JGHF). These awards celebrate scientific excellence, support early-career researchers, and expand access to world-class education across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Young Investigator Award recognises outstanding original research by early-career clinicians and scientists in gastroenterology, hepatology, and digestive endoscopy. Shortlisted applicants present their research to a panel of international judges at the congress, with winners announced at the closing session.
Eligibility | Open to clinicians and scientists from Asia-Pacific nationalities who are within 5 years of completing training in gastroenterology or hepatology. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to present at the congress at no personal cost. |

The Posters of Distinction Award celebrates the best scientific research presented in poster format at APDW 2026 Manila. Up to 24 posters are selected as moderated posters, where presenters deliver a 2-minute presentation followed by a 3-minute defence to a panel of international judges.
The APDWF / JGHF Travel Grants support early-career clinicians and scientists from across the Asia-Pacific in attending APDW 2026 Manila. Up to 70 grants of USD 1,500 each are available, providing an opportunity to engage with world-class science, build networks, and participate in the Young Clinician Investigator Program (YCIP).
Eligibility & Requirements: Open to Asia-Pacific nationalities within 5 years of completing GI/hepatology training. Applicants must submit an abstract and present personally at APDW 2026. A current CV and list of publications must be submitted with the application. Applicants must be able to converse in English. All recipients are required to attend the APDWF-JGHF Young Clinician Investigator Program (YCIP), held one day before the Postgraduate Course.
The APDWF Meritorious Award is the highest honour conferred by the Asian Pacific Digestive Week Federation, recognising individuals who have made outstanding lifetime contributions to digestive medicine in the Asia-Pacific region. Up to two awards are presented at the Opening Ceremony of APDW 2026 Manila. Awardees are nominated and selected by the APDWF Board of Directors.
This award is by nomination through the APDWF Board of Directors. It is not open for public application.
