Prof. Apolinario Ericson B. Berberabe

Professor Apolinario Ericson B. Berberabe (MD) is a tenured Professor of Surgery at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and currently serves as Deputy Director for Administration of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

He served as Chair of the Department of Surgery from 2022 to 2024, having previously headed its Division of Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery. He is also the Immediate Past Vice President of the Philippine Association of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeons, Inc. (PAHPBSI).

His clinical and academic interests focus on hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, particularly the management of complex pancreatic and biliary diseases and malignancies. He has been actively involved in surgical education, clinical leadership, and multidisciplinary patient care.

Since 2025, his administrative responsibilities at PGH have also encompassed hospital governance, healthcare systems improvement, and institutional development.
