🔬 Upper GI Therapeutic Endoscopy

This track focuses on the diagnosis and endoscopic management of common and complex upper gastrointestinal conditions. Participants will gain experience in essential therapeutic techniques, including endoscopic hemostasis, esophageal variceal band ligation, through-the-scope (TTS) clips and over-the-scope clip (OTSC) deployment, and esophageal stenting and dilation.


Recommended Prior Experience:


  • Basic knowledge of upper gastrointestinal anatomy.
  • Familiarity with the indications for upper GI endoscopy.
  • Basic understanding of endoscope system components and operation.
  • Proficiency in insertion and advancement of a forward-viewing endoscope.
  • Familiarity with scope tip deflection, torque control, and basic endoscope handling techniques.
  • Ability to identify and maintain luminal orientation during endoscopy.
🔬 Lower GI Therapeutic Endoscopy Track

This track covers core therapeutic techniques for colonoscopy, from routine polypectomy to advanced endoscopic resection. Key procedures include hot snare polypectomy, dynamic submucosal injection, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), tissue approximation using through-the-scope (TTS) clips, and endoscopic rubber band ligation of hemorrhoids.


Recommended Prior Experience:


  • Basic knowledge of lower gastrointestinal anatomy.
  • Familiarity with the indications for lower GI endoscopy.
  • Basic understanding of endoscope system components and operation.
  • Proficiency in insertion and advancement of a forward-viewing endoscope.
  • Familiarity with scope tip deflection, torque control, and basic endoscope handling techniques.
  • Ability to identify and maintain luminal orientation during endoscopy.
🔬 Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) Track

Choose between the Basic or Advanced ERCP module based on your level of experience. The Basic Module covers the fundamental techniques of ERCP, including selective biliary cannulation, sphincterotomy, stone extraction, and plastic and metal biliary stent placement. The Advanced Module focuses on the management of complex biliary disorders through mechanical lithotripsy with sphincteroplasty, cholangioscopy-guided biopsy, and cholangioscopy-assisted intraductal lithotripsy using both electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL) and laser lithotripsy.


Recommended Prior Experience for Basic ERCP:


  • Proficiency in diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
  • Experience with insertion and advancement of a side-viewing duodenoscope.
  • Familiarity with scope tip deflection, torque control, and elevator manipulation.
  • Ability to identify the major duodenal papilla and maintain optimal endoscope positioning.
  • Working knowledge of pancreaticobiliary anatomy, ERCP indications, and fluoroscopic interpretation.
  • Familiarity with ERCP indications, accessories, guidewires, and electrosurgical principles.
  • Basic experience with guidewire-assisted biliary cannulation techniques.
  • Basic understanding of the indications and management of benign and malignant biliary strictures.

Recommended Prior Experience for Advanced ERCP:


  • Independent performance of diagnostic ERCP with selective biliary cannulation.
  • Proficiency in endoscopic sphincterotomy and standard bile duct stone extraction.
  • Familiarity with guidewire manipulation and fluoroscopic interpretation during ERCP.
  • Understanding of the indications, applications, and basic principles of cholangioscopy in the evaluation and management of complex biliary disorders.
