Dong-Sik Kim, MD, PhD, is Professor of Surgery at Korea University College of Medicine and Director of the Organ Transplantation Center at Korea University Anam Hospital, Seoul. His clinical practice spans the full spectrum of hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation, with expertise in living-donor liver transplantation and complex hepatic resection. His research addresses small-for-size syndrome and graft inflow modulation, hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury, and outcomes after liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma, bridging experimental work with clinical practice.


Prof. Kim currently chairs the Research Committee of the Korean Liver Transplantation Society and serves as Chair of the Scientific Committee for A-PHPBA 2027. He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the International Liver Transplantation Society, the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the Asian-Pacific Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. He has contributed to Asia-Pacific consensus efforts in liver transplantation, including regional practice guidelines.
