Hideyuki Shiomi, MD, PhD, FJGES, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases, Department of Gastroenterology, Hyogo Medical University, Japan. He specializes in pancreatobiliary diseases and therapeutic endoscopy, with expertise in EUS, ERCP, and advanced pancreatobiliary interventions.
From 2016 to 2017, he served as a visiting consultant in therapeutic endoscopy at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City, Manila, Philippines. He is actively involved in several Japanese professional societies and guideline committees related to gastrointestinal endoscopy, EUS-guided tissue acquisition, walled-off necrosis, and EUS-guided gallbladder drainage. His research focuses on advanced endoscopic management of pancreatobiliary diseases, including pancreatic fluid collections and biliary drainage.
