Dr. Tai-Chung Tseng is an Associate Professor and attending physician at National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei. He earned his M.D. in 2001 and his Ph.D. in 2013. His research focuses on leveraging viral and host biomarkers to predict long-term outcomes in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB).



Dr. Tseng is widely recognized for his pioneering work on quantifying HBsAg and HBcrAg levels. His research established that HBsAg levels below 100 IU/mL serve as a marker for partial HBV cure and minimal HCC risk. Furthermore, he identified HBcrAg levels below 10 KU/mL as a critical tool for risk-stratifying HBeAg-negative patients, particularly those in the treatment 'gray zone.'

Dr. Tseng has published his findings as first author in premier journals such as Gastroenterology, Gut, Journal of Hepatology, and Hepatology. His work continues to shape clinical management strategies for HCC prevention and HBsAg clearance in CHB patients worldwide.
