Dr. Satimai Aniwan

Dr. Satimai Aniwan is a gastroenterologist and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) specialist at the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Excellence Center, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Aniwan earned a medical degree with First Class Honors from Chulalongkorn University and completed internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship there, followed by a research fellowship in IBD at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA.

Research interests center on IBD epidemiology and management, colorectal cancer screening, and colonoscopy quality, including randomized controlled trials of artificial intelligence–assisted (computer-aided) colonoscopy. A long-standing contributor to the Asia-Pacific Crohn’s and Colitis Epidemiology Study (ACCESS), Dr. Aniwan has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters, and is an active member of the Gastroenterological Association of Thailand and the Thai Association for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
