Dr. Sunitha Vimalesvaran

Dr. Sunitha Vimalesvaran is a paediatrician with advanced subspecialty expertise in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Dr. Vimalesvaran graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from King’s College London, United Kingdom, in 2014 and completed postgraduate paediatric training in both Singapore and the United Kingdom and attained Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), United Kingdom. In 2024, she was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Paediatrics with subspecialisation in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and was subsequently admitted to the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register in the United Kingdom. Her specialist training was undertaken at internationally renowned institutions including King’s College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in the UK and the National University Hospital Singapore. 

Through these appointments, Dr. Vimalesvaran gained extensive experience in paediatric hepatology, gastroenterology, nutrition, paediatric intensive care, neonatology, community paediatrics, and general paediatrics. Her principal academic interests are in paediatric liver disease, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), transitional care for adolescents and young adults with chronic liver and gastrointestinal conditions, impact of the gut microbiome and clinical research aimed at improving long term outcomes for children with chronic liver disease. She remains committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centred care while contributing to the continued advancement of paediatric medicine, specialist clinical services, and medical education.
