Dr. Tsukasa Ishida

Tsukasa Ishida, MD, PhD, is Director of the Department of Gastroenterology at Akashi Medical Center, Japan. He earned his MD from Tokyo Medical University and his PhD from Kobe University. He is a board-certified specialist and trainer in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy. His clinical expertise centers on advanced endoscopic resection, particularly ESD, EMR, EFTR, and underwater techniques.

Having performed more than 2,000 ESDs, he has extensive experience treating esophageal, gastric, duodenal, and colorectal neoplasms and managing inflammatory bowel disease. His research focuses on minimally invasive endoscopic treatment, advanced defect closure, and improving ESD safety and efficiency. He has published widely in therapeutic endoscopy and contributed to multicenter clinical studies. In 2016, he served as an advising physician in advanced endoscopy at St. Luke's Medical Center Global City in Manila and has continued to support endoscopy education and academic exchange in the Philippines.
