Dr. Wong Yu Jun is a leading hepatologist, clinician scientist and regional academic leader whose work has advanced the care of patients with chronic liver disease in Singapore and beyond. He is Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Changi General Hospital, holding joint appointment as Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His academic contributions span cirrhosis, portal hypertension, viral hepatitis, steatotic liver disease and autoimmune liver disease, with more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, including work in high-impact journals such as Journal of Hepatology, Hepatology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gut and Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

He has established himself as a key voice in non-invasive risk stratification of cirrhosis and portal hypertension using liver stiffness measurement and autoimmune liver disease. His leadership is reflected through regional and international roles, including membership in the AASLD Portal Hypertension SIG Steering Committee, the APAGE Emerging Leader’s committee, Baveno Cooperation and GLOBAL-PBC, as well as his service as EXCO member of the Chapter of Gastroenterology, Academy of Medicine Singapore and Gastroenterological Society of Singapore. His achievements, including multiple AASLD Foundation awards, SingHealth Publish Awards, Clinical Trialist Development Award and Outstanding Mentor Awards, underscore his impact as a clinician scientist, educator, mentor and regional leader.
