Dr. Carlos Francisco (MD, FPCP, FPSG, FPSDE) is a gastroenterologist with subspecialty training in bariatric and interventional endoscopy. He earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Medical Center–Quezon City. He then pursued fellowship training in Gastroenterology at St. Luke’s Medical Center–Global City, followed by an advanced clinical and research fellowship in Bariatric and Interventional Endoscopy at Singapore General Hospital.


He is a Past Director and Chair of the Committee on Basic and Advanced Endoscopy Training of the Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy and currently serves as the organization’s Public Relations Officer (PRO). He remains actively engaged in medical education and is committed to advancing endoscopy training through simulation-based education via the Academy of Endoscopy, where he mentors physicians, endoscopy nurses, and technicians both locally and internationally.


Dr. Francisco has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in the fields of gastroenterology, endoscopy, obesity, and simulation-based education. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several international scientific journals. His academic interests focus on advanced therapeutic and bariatric endoscopy, endoscopy education, simulation-based learning, and innovations in gastrointestinal practice.
