Dr Enrik John Aguila is a gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist who heads the Endoscopy Unit at St. Luke's Medical Center – Global City and Ospital ng Maynila. He is also a faculty member at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH), where he earned his MD-MBA degree, and chairs the GI research committees at both institutions. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at St. Luke's Medical Center – Global City, followed by advanced endoscopy training in Adelaide, Australia, as an APAGE Clinician-Scientist Scholar, and a clinical observership at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Harvard Medical School as a Berenson Scholar.


His clinical and academic interests include therapeutic endoscopy, advanced imaging and resection, endoscopy education, and GI nutrition. Dr Aguila is active in Philippine GI and endoscopy societies, as well as several international bodies, including the APAGE Emerging Leaders Committee, the WGO Young GI Committee, and the WEO Emerging Stars Program. He also serves as Associate Editor of the Philippine Journal of Gastroenterology, Deputy Social Media Editor for the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and faculty with the Asian Novel Bio-imaging and Intervention Group (ANBIIG) and the Academy of Endoscopy.
