Dr. Ian Homer Y. Cua is the President of the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and serves as Congress President of the Asian Pacific Digestive Week 2026 Manila, Philippines. He is the Head of the Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases at St. Luke's Medical Center, Bonifacio Global City, and Chief of the Section of Hepatology at the Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases, St. Luke's Medical Center, Quezon City.
Dr. Cua is a Member of the Hepatology Interest Group of the World Gastroenterology Organisation and previously served as President of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines from 2016 to 2017. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was conferred the Philippine College of Physicians Presidential Award in 2023.
Internationally, Dr. Cua has held several leadership roles within the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL), including membership on its Executive Council from 2015 to 2019, and Chairmanship of the APASL Single Topic Conference on Liver Cirrhosis and its Complications in May 2023. He also served as Secretary-General of the 28th Annual Conference of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver, held in Manila, Philippines, from 20 to 24 February 2019.
