Dr Joseph C. Bocobo is a gastroenterologist and Active Consultant at the Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases, St. Luke's Medical Center, Philippines, where he has served as faculty since 1997. He trained at the University of Santo Tomas and completed his residency and gastroenterology fellowship at St. Luke's Medical Center and is a Life Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians and the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology.
He is Past President of the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology (2013–2014) and Past Chair of the Philippine Specialty Board of Internal Medicine (2022–2023) and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Journal of Gastroenterology and Professor I at St. Luke's Medical Center College of Medicine.
His research spans H. pylori, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis B, NAFLD, and the gut microbiome, and he has contributed to several national clinical practice guidelines. He is also a frequent invited speaker at national and international gastroenterology conferences.
