Dr. Wei-Yuan Chang is an attending physician in Gastroenterology, Department of Internal Medicine, at National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH). A graduate of the National Taiwan University College of Medicine, he also holds an MSc from the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine at NTU and completed his residency and gastroenterology training at NTUH. He specializes in the treatment of colorectal neoplasms, including EMR and ESD, and has published extensively on colonoscopic technologies, colorectal cancer screening, and the association between lifestyle and colorectal neoplasm risk.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Chang is actively involved in clinical research at NTUH, including randomized controlled trials on the primary prevention of colorectal cancer, surveillance colonoscopy for high-risk patients, and novel endoscopic devices for detecting early gastrointestinal bleeding. His recent publications include a multicenter randomized controlled trial comparing three-dimensional and standard colonoscopy in Endoscopy, and studies on AI-assisted cecum recognition and adenoma detection published in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Digestive Endoscopy.
