Prof. Dadang Makmun is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia – Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital, Jakarta. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia in 1983 and has been working as a gastroenterologist at Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital since 1995.

Prof. Dadang Makmun is the former Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, a past President of the Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE), the Indonesian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), and the past President of the Asia Pacific Digestive Week (APDW) 2024, held in Bali, Indonesia. In 2025, Prof. Dadang Makmun has been conferred as the Master, APAGE award.

His areas of expertise include diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, such as upper and lower GI endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and bariatric endoscopy.
