Prof. Sollano is a distinguished figure in Philippine gastroenterology and hepatology. He has held senior clinical leadership roles including Chief of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Unit at UST Hospital and Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Chairman of the Department of Medicine at St. Luke's Medical Center, and Chief of the Sub-Section of Hepatology at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, where he established the Philippines' first Clinical Hepatology Fellowship Program. He currently serves as Medical Director of Healthway Cancer Care Hospital.

A past president of the Asia Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver, the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology, the Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy, and the Philippine College of Physicians, he is also President and Founder of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Club of the Philippines. His research contributions include co-authoring the APAGE IBD Working Party Guidelines on IBD Management during COVID-19, named Wiley's Most Cited Article for 2020, along with five book chapters and numerous journal articles. He has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and the Jose P. Rizal Award from the Philippine Medical Association.
