Mitsuhiro Fujishiro, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor and Chair of the Department of Gastroenterology at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Medicine and Chief of Gastroenterology and Clinical Oncology at the University of Tokyo Hospital. He is actively engaged in clinical practice, medical education, and translational research, with a primary focus on gastrointestinal endoscopy, early detection of gastrointestinal neoplasia, and minimally invasive therapeutic endoscopy. He holds prominent leadership roles in both Japanese and international gastroenterology communities. He serves as President of JGES and Vice Director General of JSGE, Director of APDWF, Councilor of APSDE, and Governing Council Member of WEO. He also served as a Director of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine. He is also Visiting Professor at Nagoya University. With over 600 peer-reviewed publications and more than 100 invited lectures worldwide, he is widely recognized as a leading authority in this field.
