Prof. Rajvinder Singh

Rajvinder Singh is a Professor of Medicine with the Adelaide University and the Director of Gastroenterology at the Lyell McEwin & Modbury Hospitals, South Australia.

To date, he has published more than 150 peer reviewed papers and 11 book chapters. He has been a Chief Editor of 4 textbooks including two volumes of the state of the art, Atlas of Advanced Endoscopy published in 2024.

As a full-time clinician, Prof. Singh has a h-index of 47. He has been successful in obtaining more than $AUD 3 million in grants including from the Cancer Council/Cancer Australia to further investigate the utility of novel endoscopic imaging techniques in Barrett’s Oesophagus. In 2019, work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis of colorectal polyps was selected as 1 of 3 nominees for the Minister’s Innovation Award. Prof. Singh is an internationally renowned Endoscopist. He is frequently invited to conduct and lecture at endoscopy workshops worldwide (to date more than 200 workshops/symposiums including in Australia, the US, the UK, Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, New Zealand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Ukraine, UAE, Brazil and the Philippines).

He was the Associate Editor of JGH International and is on the Editorial Board of Clinical Endoscopy. He was a past Editorial Board member of 2 seminal endoscopic journals, Digestive Endoscopy and Endoscopy and past Co-Editor of Endoscopy International Open. He was a past chair of the Australian Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Association. His research interests includes Endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early cancer in the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, biliary tree and colon using various novel Advanced Mucosal Imaging tools (including AI) and looking at outcomes of various novel endoscopic interventions. He has been part of committees writing national and international guidelines on Barrett’s Oesophagus, Colon Polyps and Pancreatic cancer.
