Prof. Vu Van Khien is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of GI Endoscopy at 108 Central Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam, and currently practices at the GI Center Endoscopy, Thu Cuc International Hospital. He obtained his MD from Hanoi Medical University in 1989 and his PhD in Gastroenterology in 2000, becoming Associate Professor in 2009.
His research focuses on GERD, Helicobacter pylori, gastrointestinal cancer screening, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy, particularly variceal bleeding management in liver cirrhosis. He has published more than 130 papers in local and international journals, including collaborative H. pylori research in journals such as Nature Communications and World Journal of Gastroenterology, and received the Young Investigator Award at the Asian Pacific Congress of Gastroenterology on three occasions.
He serves as Secretary General of the Vietnam Association of Gastroenterology (VNAGE) and Vice President of the Vietnam Federation for Digestive Endoscopy (VFDE), and is active in international cooperation with APAGE, APSDE, and Korean gastroenterology associations.
